Sandeep Bajoria to head International Sunflower Oil Association

Pune: As India's import of sunflower oil increases, International Sunflower Oil Association has selected India's Sandeep Bajoria to head the organisation. The decision was announced at the International Sunflower Seed and Oil Conference 2019 (ISSOC 2019)on July 19 and 20, 2019 at Mumbai. "This is a great honour to SEA and recognition in world over," said Atul Chaturvedi, president, SEA.

India meets about 70% of its edible oil demand through imports and the share of sunflower oil in the total edible oil imports has been rising steadily during past few years. "International Sunflower Oil Association (ISOA) at their Board Meeting held on 19^th July 2019 elected Sandeep Bajoria, CEO (Sunvin Oils) ,& past president SEA, as president and Dr. B.V. Mehta, Executive Director SEA, as director of this prestigious International Organisation of Sunflower Oil, a release from SEA said.

"The importance of Sunflower Oil is growing by leaps and bounds around the world. Sunflower Oil Production is about 52.0 million tones while sunflower oil production is estimated in excess of 20 Million tons and almost 11 million tons is getting traded. India is the largest importer of sunflower oil, importing about 2.5 million tones per annum mainly from Ukraine, to bridge the gap between demand and supply," the release added further.
