Accusing beverage giant Coca Cola of polluting groundwater, activists on Wednesday held a protest near the company's manufacturing unit on the outskirts of this city.

AHMEDABAD: Accusing beverage giant Coca Cola of polluting groundwater, activists on Wednesday held a protest near the company's manufacturing unit on the outskirts of this city.
Around 30 activists of the NGO Azadi Bachao Andolan protested near the unit in Goblaj village and demanded its closure.
"Coca Cola factory is polluting the groundwater by releasing effluents. Also these products are not good for health as they are reported to contain pesticides. This protest is part of a nationwide campaign against the product," Mahadev Vidrohi, one of the protestors, said.
The protestors also sought the intervention of the state government in the issue.
