Parag Milk Foods says captures 50% of institutional cheese market

Parag Milk Foods on Wednesday announced that it has captured 50% of the institutional cheese market for its processed cheese brand Go Cheese.

New Delhi: Parag Milk Foods on Wednesday announced that it has captured 50% of the institutional cheese market for its processed cheese brand Go Cheese. The overall cheese market in India is estimated at over Rs 500 crore, growing at 20% annually.

Go Cheese chairman Devendra Shah said in statement: " There is a shift in eating habits with cheese becoming a very important part of foods like pizzas , burgers, and sandwiches having replaced traditional meals to a large extent.

Parag Milk Foods' mainstay brand is Gowardhan, and it is among the country's largest private dairies, with an output capacity of 40 metric tonnes per day. It makes skim milk powder and whole milk powder, ghee, processed cheese, butter and dahi under the brand names Gowardhan and Go.
