Notice issued to Coca-Cola India

MRTPC on Friday sought response from Coca-Cola India on allegation by its Rajasthan-based franchisee bottler for indulging in unfair trade practices.

NEW DELHI: MRTPC on Friday sought response from Coca-Cola India on allegation by its Rajasthan-based franchisee bottler for indulging in unfair trade practices.

A bench comprising chairman OP Dwivedi and member MMK Sardana issued the notice on petition filed by bottler Satyam foods specialities. The Jaipur-based bottler filed a petition alleging Coke of indulging in unfair trade practices and consciously not allowing the Schweppes products, a brand which it had acquired from Cadbury���s.

Satyam foods, which was bottling the Schweppes products, alleged that Coca-Cola undertook a ���well thought-out strategy��� to kill Schweppes brands.
