Mother Dairy increases milk prices by up to Rs 2/litre in Delhi and NCR

AHMEDABAD: Mother Dairy has revised milk prices by 4% in Delhi NCR effective from Saturday. Last price increase was taken in September 2011, the company said.

The price increase by Mother Dairy after a gap of one year is attributed to significant increases in power tariff, poly film cost, diesel cost as well as milk procurement prices.

Currently Mother Dairy milk is priced lower than its nearest competition and even post the price increase Mother Dairy milk will continue to be lower by Re 1 per litre than its nearest competition in the Full Cream Milk variant.

It's very popular Bulk Vended Milk (token milk) will be available at an affordable Rs 28.00 which is Rs 2 less than the polypack toned milk.

Full cream milk will be dearer by Rs 2 per litre, while other variants will be costlier by Re 1 a litre.

One litre of full cream milk (poly pack) will now cost Rs 39, toned milk (poly pack) Rs 30, double toned Rs 26 and skimmed milk Rs 22.
Mother Dairy in its effort to balance the need of the dairy farmers and the consumers is now constrained to revise milk prices in Delhi NCR effective from September 8, it said in a statement.

It sells more than 30 lakh liters per day in Delhi and claims to pass on 75-76% of the consumer price to the rural farmers.
