The lorry strike in Kerala has not adversly affected egg producers in Namakkal area, with stocks being promptly sent to northern states.

SALEM: The lorry strike in Kerala has not adversly affected egg producers in Namakkal area, with stocks being promptly sent to northern states, according to National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC).

"All the eggs have been sent to North India, where there is good demand due to cold weather," Nallathampi, president of NECC, told reporters.

Meanwhile, around 30 lakh eggs have been exported to foreign countries recently, he said.

NECC is also making efforts to export eggs to Dubai and Muscat.

"A ban on import of eggs to Dubai and Muscat is likely to be lifted by the end of this month," he said.
