J-K is yet to find aerated drink unfit

The Jammu and Kashmir government today said it was yet to come across incidence of high pesticides in aerated drinks, but was keeping a watch.

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government today said it was yet to come across incidence of high pesticides in aerated drinks, but was keeping a watch.
"No case of high pesticides content in soft drinks has been confirmed yet and as such none of the brands has been banned in the Jammu and Kashmir state," Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Minister Hakim Mohammad Yaseen said here today.
The drugs and food controller has collected various samples of soft drinks in the state, which are presently at various stages of examination, he said.
The state government was monitoring the situation in view of certain media reports on the high content of pesticides in various brands of aerated drinks.
