India’s masala omelette has earned a place among the 50 best egg dishes in the world, according to the latest rankings by popular food and travel guide TasteAtlas, which has unveiled its list of the top 100 egg dishes globally.

Eggs are a staple ingredient worldwide, used in a diverse range of dishes spanning from breakfast to dessert. As a key component of many beloved recipes, eggs feature prominently in various cuisines, offering endless options for egg lovers to relish.

Topping the list is Ajitsuke Tamago from Japan, a traditional dish featuring soft-boiled eggs marinated in mirin and soy sauce. These eggs, known for their custardy yolks, are commonly enjoyed as a snack, part of a bento meal, or as a topping for ramen.

India’s masala omelette has also made it to the prestigious list, securing the 22nd spot. This classic Indian dish is prepared by whisking eggs with onions, green chilli peppers, coriander, chilli powder, and turmeric powder before cooking the mixture in a pan with butter or oil.
