India extends duty-free raw sugar import deadline to December 31

India has extended the deadline for duty-free imports of 1 million metric tonnes of raw sugar to December 31 from October 31, according to an official notification issued on Thursday.

The extension gives importers additional time to bring in the commodity into the world's largest sugar-consuming country.
