Gujarat's Food and Drugs Commissioner S P Adeshra has taken voluntary retirement from his service.

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat's Food and Drugs Commissioner S P Adeshra has taken voluntary retirement from his service, official sources said on friday.
However, the Commissioner would continue to serve the department during the three months notice period, they said.
Adeshra (54), who opted for retirement yesterday is a technocrat, having worked with several pharmaceutical companies before joining the government in the mid-1990's.
"I have taken voluntary retirement from the service on personal grounds only", he said.
The Food and Drugs Commissioner was facing some departmental inquiries, government sources said.
However, Adeshra has brushed aside reports about him having resigned owing to the ongoing inquiries as "baseless" and "lacking any substance".
