The inspections flagged multiple food safety and hygiene lapses at both establishments, including poor sanitation, pest infestation, inadequate pest-control measures and deficiencies in food handling and storage practices.
At TCF Chocolates & Gifts, inspectors found poor hygiene and sanitation, pest infestation, expired food colours and flavours, and inadequate food-handler hygiene and protective measures. The inspection also found that mandatory food-safety records were not produced and noted deficiencies in labelling and food-contact materials.

At Shivam Agro, inspectors reported severe hygiene and sanitation deficiencies, rodent activity, improper storage of food and non-food items, and rusting and corroded equipment. The inspection also flagged deficiencies in laboratory testing records and incorrect labelling of serving information and cholesterol content on a plant-based edible.
