Egg prices up 18% on expensive feed and heatwave

Prices of egg have shot up by 18% in the last one month as production of egg laying chicks have come down due to rising feed prices and the heatwave that killed chicks.

Poultry breeders and farmers have also approached the Union animal husbandry ministry to export eggs to the Gulf countries so that farmers can recover their cost of production and earn some profit.
