Edible oils improve on better offtake
Edible oils prices gathered fresh grounds in the wholesale oils and oilseeds market here today on emergence of increased buying by stockists and vanaspati units.
Meanwhile, sesame mill delivery price declined due to lack of buying interest.
Marketmen said fresh buying by stockists and vanaspati mills mainly pushed up edible oil prices.
They said however, sesame oil price drifted because of poor offtake.
However, non-edible oils maintained last closing levels on sporadic deals.
In the edible edible, groundnut mill delivery climbed up by Rs 100 at Rs 7,600 a quintal on increased offtake by vanaspati mills.
Soyabean degum gained by Rs 30 to wind up at Rs 4,850 a quintal due to rise in demand.
Crude palm oil ex-kandla too attracted buyers' attention in view of restricted supply and shot up by Rs 40 at Rs 4200 a quintal.
On the other hand, sesame mill delivery oils lost fresh grounds in view of slackness in demand and settled at Rs 5,000 from Rs 5,050 a quintal.
