Dhunseri Tea eyeing buy-outs

KOLKATA: Manufacturer and marketer of branded tea Dhunseri Tea and Industries is looking at acquisitions to enhance production volumes.

The company was looking at targets typically having a production base of 10 lakh kilogram of tea annually, Dhunseri Group Chairman C K Dhanuka told reporters here.

The firm would merge Tezpore Tea with itself and consultants have been appointed to decide on the share swap ratio, he said.

Post-merger, production volumes of Dhunseri would touch 10 million kilograms.

Dhanuka said the company was also looking at the real estate sector. Dhunseri planned to build five lakh square feet space on the outskirts of Kolkata.
