Coke sales hit by heavy monsoons in India
Coca-Cola reported that heavy monsoon rains in several Indian states affected its beverage sales in the country during the third quarter, which ended on September 27. Despite this setback, the company expects a recovery in the near future.
"India had a particularly heavy monsoon in several states, which impacted volume growth in the country," said James Quincey, global CEO, in a post-earnings investor call. He did not elaborate on the company's sales performance in India last quarter. Coca-Cola's unit volume case sales declined 2% in Asia-Pacific region last quarter.
