CII to organise buyers-sellers meet for processed food ind
Western Gorumet, Xongdur Thai Organics Food and Tesco will converge to explore business possibilities at a buyers-sellers meet.
The two day summit-'Processed Food Advantage India 2008' is being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, where nearly three dozen global players are expected to explore the supply possibility, industry body CII said in a release.
Over 120 domestic companies would get an opportunity to meet, network and establish profitable business linkages with leading multinational retailers, manufacturers, consolidators and importers, it said.
Indian companies who would participate includes Britannia Industries Ltd, Kaventer, Rasna International, MTR Foods, Tasty Bite, Safal, Priyagold and Tea Board of India.
Presently, India's share of global trade in the value added processed food sector is less than 0.03 per cent, which is abysmal considering that globally the sector is estimated at a whopping 3.2 trillion dollar. This clearly defines the scope for export led growth for the Indian food processing sector, Khambatta said.
