Calcium-rich milk coming in New Year
Apart from selecting the appropriate fat content in liquid milk, you will now have the option to choose the higher calcium content in the milk.
The Rs 4,277-crore strong Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) will launch liquid milk with double the calcium content under its brand Amul.
“By January end, we would announce the launch of new variant in liquid milk segment, targeting niche audience. The calcium-rich milk will be launched under the banner of Amul Calci Plus.
We would be enriching milk by diluting calcium extracted from the cow milk only instead of applying any synthetic material,” GCMMF MD BM Vyas told ET.
It was learnt that Amul Calci Plus would be available for Rs 35 a litre in aseptic packaging. GCMMF is targeting sports people, women going through menopause, osteoporosis patients and pregnant ladies.
