Britannia rejigs top brass: N Venkataraman new Deputy MD, R Jayaraman to be CFO

MUMBAI: Britannia Industries on Tuesday appointed its current chief financial officer, N Venkataraman, as the new deputy managing director, while Ramamurthy Jayaraman will take over as CFO, with both leadership changes taking effect on October 1.

The appointments come as the packaged foods maker continues to reshape its senior leadership under chief executive Rakshit Hargave, who took charge in December 2025 after Varun Berry's exit.

Britannia is the second major FMCG company in recent months to promote its finance chief to the top spot. The development comes after Godrej Consumer Products elevated its former CFO, Aasif Malbari, to MD and CEO in August.


Venkataraman has been with the company since 2007 and will now oversee its finance, strategy, legal, secretarial and IT functions alongside Hargave, Britannia said. He previously worked in finance roles at Eicher Motors and Hindustan Aeronautics.

Jayaraman has been promoted to head the entire finance function at Britannia Industries, moving up from his previous role as vice president of corporate finance.
