New Delhi: AWL Agri Business reported a 2% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit to ₹239 crore for the September quarter, even as revenue from operations rose 26.1% to ₹22,270 crore. Revenue from its food and FMCG business grew 32% year-on-year to ₹2,216 crore, the edible oil and packaged foods maker said in a statement.

The company plans to prioritise expansion of its packaged food business and premium, health-focused and convenience-led products, while improving profitability through scale and operating efficiencies.

"We will remain very aggressive on wheat flour and rice," said Shrikant Kanhere, managing director and chief executive officer of AWL Agri Business. He added that the company also plans to develop the pulses category, which offers attractive margins.

The food and consumer goods business, which includes basmati rice and sugar, remained a key growth driver. The company also plans to aggressively expand branded exports in markets with a significant Indian diaspora, including the US, Europe and Australia.
