Unicharm set to foray into India

NEW DELHI: Japanese firm Unicharm���a company engaged in manufacturing baby-and feminine-care products--is all set to foray into the Indian market. It is learnt that the company plans to set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in India.
The firm plans to start with a distribution presence by importing products, and would eventually enter the manufacturing space in the country.
Speaking to ET, an Unicharm official said that the company plans to start its operations in the country by year-end. It is learnt that Unicharm has already got the approval of Registrar of Companies (RoC) to set up its office in Delhi, and function under the name Unicharm India Hygienic Pvt Ltd.
