Super-Max to invest Rs 1000 crore for expansion
Super-Max has lined up Rs 1000 crore for expansion. The plan includes setting up a 500 million-unit greenfield plant in Brazil
The remaining Rs 500 crore will be invested on plant in Brazil and ramping up production of Bangladesh plant to 1 billion units from 360 million units and of Mexico plant to 280 million units from 200 million units. We will fund this expansion through internal accruals,” says Super-Max Group CEO Ajay Bindroo. This expansion plan will help company increase its capacity from 10 billion units to around 15 billion units per annum. “We hope to double our production levels in next three years,” he said.
Apart from that, the world's second largest razor blade manufacturer company is also looking at taking inorganic route to grow in European and South-east Asian markets. “We are planning to buy out one razor blade company each in Europe and South-east Asia within next 18 months. This will help us penetrate more in these markets,” he said without disclosing the names of the companies.
He said India will remain a key market for Super Max which has presence across 140 countries across the globe. “India contributes around 30% to our global revenue and we are inching closer towards clocking revenues worth Rs1,000 crore from this region. We have a 50 per cent market share in the country by volume and are confident of increasing it further through new business strategies,” Bindroo said.
