Reckitt plans organic and inorganic growth
Reckitt Benckiser is reviewing some options in its core areas of operation-household care, personal care and OTC pharma products.
Reckitt Benckiser India chairman and managing director Chander M Sethi said the company had identified both organic and inorganic growth opportunities. Acquisition has been a global strategy and we are now evaluating such options in India as well. We are looking at various options that include both brands and companies, he said.
However, Mr Sethi declined to comment on specifics about the acquisition. The company has recently ventured into the air freshner category by launching Air Wick in India.
We may roll out more such brands from our global basket next year. While we have a big presence in food category in the US, there are no plans to launch them in India, he said.
Reckitt Benckiser is very cautious in increasing its product prices due to inflationary trend in the market. Mr Sethi said Reckitt Benckiser is the second-largest advertiser in India, next only to HUL.
