Reckit Benckiser says no recall orders yet for Dettol

NEW DELHI: Consumer goods giant Reckitt Benckiser on Tuesday said it has not received any recall orders for its Dettol soap, and denied having violated regulatory guidelines pertaining to the product.

A day earlier, the Agra Food Safety & Drug Administration had asked the company to recall a 2014 batch of Dettol soaps saying there were quality concerns and that the weight displayed on the packs was incorrect.

Till the time of going to press, a spokesperson for Reckitt Benckiser maintained that the company hasn’t received any recall orders. Last week, a sample of Dettol soap bar failed laboratory tests in UP. The regional regulator had collected samples of the product from Agra in November and sent them for laboratory tests in Lucknow.
