P&G Q4 net at Rs 46.56 cr
FMCG major Procter and Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd on Tuesday posted a net profit of Rs 46.56 crore for the quarter ended June 30, where as the same was at Rs 38.36 crore for the corresponding quarter in 2005.
Total income stood at Rs 155.87 crore for the fourth quarter ended June 30, where as the same was at Rs 205.53 crore in the year-ago period, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
For the year ended June 30, the company reported a net profit of Rs 139.51 crore where as the same was at Rs 124.61 crore for the year ended June 30, 2005. The total income was Rs 631.01 crore for the year ended June 30 where as the same was at Rs 731.54 crore a year ago.
The figures of the previous period and year are not strictly comparable with that of the current period and year due to discontinuance of operation of detergent manufacturing business.
"Our strong 18 per cent sales growth of the core businesses for both, the full year and last quarter, keeps us in the league of India's fastest growing FMCG companies," the company's Chairman Bharat Patel said.
"To meet with the growing demand of our products we are now investing Rs 56 crore in expanding capacity of our existing feminine hygiene plant in Goa and building new health care plants in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh," he added.
