State-owned Karnataka Soaps and Detergents (KSDL), makers of the Mysore Sandal soap, has set an all-time production record by manufacturing 4,895 metric tonnes of products in January this year, Industries minister M B Patil said on Tuesday.

The minister, in an official statement, said that the January production included 3,798 tonnes in the soap segment, 941 tonnes in the detergents segment, and 155 tonnes in the cosmetics segment.

The minister further said that KSDL had previously achieved production records of 3,113 tonnes in September 2020, 2,744 tonnes in November 2021, 3,650 tonnes in September 2022, 4,144 tonnes in November 2023, 4,486 tonnes in March 2025, and 4,735 tonnes in December 2025.

This achievement follows KSDL's recent contribution of over Rs 153 crore to the state government as dividend from its profits for fiscal year 2025.

The minister highlighted that the company has implemented extensive measures to expand its market presence and strengthen branding in North India and overseas markets. The enterprise now operates a continuous, quality-driven production system across three shifts, said the statement.

KSDL currently offers over 45 products and plans to introduce more in the coming days. Patil further added that the company aims to scale up its turnover to Rs 5,000 crore by 2030.
