ITC chairman gets award

Chairman of ITC Limited Y C Deveshwar was presented with the M S Swaminathan Award for Environment Protection for 2006 by Tamil Nadu Governor S S Barnala.

KOLKATA: Chairman of ITC Limited Y C Deveshwar was presented with the M S Swaminathan Award for Environment Protection for 2006 by Tamil Nadu Governor S S Barnala.

Barnala, presenting the award at Chennai yesterday, praised ITC's committment and contribution to the development and regeneration of nation's social and environmental capital.

He also congratulated for ITC becoming a carbon positive corporation, while making significant progress towards zero solid waste.
