Henkel India gets shareholders nod for name change

The shareholders have passed a special resolution for changing the name of the company from Henkel India Ltd to Jyothy Consumer Products Ltd.

NEW DELHI: FMCG firm Henkel India today said it has received shareholders' nod to rechristen itself as Jyothy Consumer Products Ltd, following merger with Jyothy Laboratories Ltd.

The shareholders of the company have through postal ballot overwhelmingly passed a special resolution for changing the name of the company from Henkel India Ltd to Jyothy Consumer Products Ltd, Henkel India said in a filing to BSE.

Out of the total number of votes polled, 99.93 votes were in favour of the resolution while 0.07 per cent were against the resolution. The result of the postal ballot were declared on July 11, it added.

The board of directors of the company had already approved the amalgamation of the company with Jyothy Laboratories in its meeting held last month, the company said.

Henkel India operates in business areas of laundry, home care, cosmetics, toiletries and hair care.

Shares of Henkel India were today trading at Rs 28.90 per scrip in the after noon trade on BSE, up 1.05 per cent from its previous close.
