Colgate Palmolive to set up plant in Gujarat with Rs 200 crore investment
Oral and dental hygiene products manufacturer Colgate Palmolive has decided to set up a greenfield facility at an upcoming industrial estate in Sanand.
The industrial estate is being developed by state-run Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation ( GIDC).
"Colgate has been allotted 1,00,000 sq metres of land at the upcoming GIDC industrial estate in Bol village in Sanand-II by the Government," a State Industry Department official told PTI today.
"The company plans to set up a manufacturing facility here for which the investment has been pegged close to Rs 200 crore," he said.
The FMCG major currently operates with manufacturing facilities in Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), Hyderabad and Kundaim (Goa). The proposed facility shall be its fifth one in India.
GIDC is the industrial development arm of the Gujarat Government.
