Amway expects to touch Rs 2,500 crores in revenue in the current fiscal
Amway India expects its sales in Uttar Pradesh grow by about 25 percent in the current fiscal having touched Rs 131 crores in sales during 2011-12.
Vice President-North, Amway India, Bhuvan Kapur said the the state has emerged as one of its key markets with 27 per cent of the overall sales in North Indian states coming from UP alone.
Amway which clocked sales of Rs 2130 crores nationally registering a growth of 19 per cent in 2011-12 expects to touch Rs 2,500 crores in revenue by the end of the present fiscal.
Bhuvan Kapur said that much of their sales are now coming from rural and semi urban pockets. "About 30 per cent of sales is now coming from rural and semi urban centres as the economy prospers in small centres. People are eager to buy branded FMCG products and Amway is finding many takers here due to increased advertising and visibility of our products" said Kapur.
He however said that urban centres continue to be the predominant market of the company and they have launched an e -commerce initiative to tap the urban and young consumers.
He said that Amway now ranks among the top eleven FMCG company in India, which given the companies relatively late entry into the market and being pitted against MNC's with huge advertising revenues is a big achievement.
