Taiwanese trade body TAITRA on Thursday said it will introduce 17 different consumer lifestyle products in India, as part of its efforts to promote Taiwanese brands in the country.

MUMBAI: Taiwanese trade body TAITRA on Thursday said it will introduce 17 different consumer lifestyle products in India, as part of its efforts to promote Taiwanese brands in the country.

The body, Taiwan External Trade Development Council, will also increase the reach of existing Taiwanese brands like Acer, ASUS, BenQ, D-Link and Transcend.

TAITRA is a non-profit trade promotion organisation, entrusted by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan.

At present, almost 76 per cent of Taiwan's investment in South Asia comes to India and Taiwan at the forefront of offering the quality and value technology products.

"India and Taiwan possess significantly complementary skills in information and communication technology (ICT). Pooling the best practises and learning we will provide an order of magnitude of greater benefit to both countries," Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre's Director (Economic Division), David Hsu, told reporters here while inaugurating its campaign called 'Taiwan Excellence'.

The campaign will represent innovative and technological image of Taiwan's competitive industries here in India.

"With income levels rising and lifestyles getting increasingly refined, consumers are seeking high-quality products and brands that have made global headway," Hsu said.

In 2009, India was the 15th largest export market for Taiwan and provides a higher trade opportunity.
