Titan Industries unveils world's biggest gold bangle

A Tata Group subsidiary, Titan Industries, on Tuesday announced that it has created the world's biggest gold bangle made of 22 carat pure gold.

NEW DELHI: A Tata Group subsidiary, Titan Industries, on Tuesday announced that it has created the world's biggest gold bangle made of 22 carat pure gold.

The bangle made at Erode in Tamil Nadu measures 1,830 millimetre in diameter and 140 millimetre in width. It weighs 24,505 gram, Titan Industries jewellery division Gold Plus said in a statement.

"The Tata family has been the pride of India since its inception. It is only natural that Gold Plus from Tata makes India proud by setting a new record with the world's biggest gold bangle," Gold Plus Vice President L R Natarajan said.

The bangle has been created in Indian design, with the deal of purity engraved in eight languages. The bangle took 227 man days to complete and a team of 30 craftsmen worked on it, the company added.
