Mainetti India sets up Rs 35 cr facility in Chennai
Mainetti India says it has set up a manufacturing unit in Sriperumbudur at an investment of Rs 35 crore.
The facility would house a distribution centre as well as a hanger library, displaying the product ranges Mainetti manufactures worldwide, the company said in a release.
"Investments on setting up the facility are with a view to cater to the global market and strengthen our presence in the domestic market," Mainetti India Vice-President (Marketing) Rajesh Menon said.
The envisaged growth in the garment industry after abolition of quotas in 2005 and the exciting retail prospects have seen India become a potential market for the company, he said.
The company has a capacity to produce over 300 million hangers from multiple manufacturing units in Chennai, Menon said adding that with the new facility, productivity of the company would grow by 50 per cent.
Mainetti India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mainetti Group of Companies, which is into design and manufacture of lifestyle garment hangers.
