Lacoste to double retail outlets in four years

French affordable luxury brand Lacoste plans to double the number of retail outlets in the country over the next four years.

KOLKATA: French affordable luxury brand Lacoste plans to double the number of retail outlets in the country over the next four years, an official of the company said.

"Presently there are 41 Lacoste outlets in the country, of which 29 are exclusive boutiques and the rest shop-in-shop stores in Lifestyle and Shoppers Stop", Rajesh Jain director and CEO of Sports and Leisure Apparel Limited, which a licensee of parent Lacoste S.A. to manufacture and market the company's products in the country, told PTI today.

Jain said that the Maldives outlet of Lacoste was also being administered from India.

Lacoste, which started its journey in India from 1993, has its manufacturing outlet at Noida, Jain said, adding that the unit was only making apparel. Other product categories like perfumes, bags and footwear were imported.

Jain said that last year, the company had a 25 per cent growth in topline. "This year, we are expecting a growth of 32 to 35 per cent", Jain said.

"The company aims to double the revenue in the next three years", he said.

Lacoste opened its second outlet in the city at Quest Mall today.
