Indian saris, jewellery on display in Islamabad
A Mumbai-based designer house's saris and exquisite jewellery have been getting a dekko from fashionistas of the Pakistani capital at an expo.
Nazakat, the Mumbai brand, has also showcased kurtis embellished with coin-work and with intricate Kashmiri embroidery. Its ethnic salwar kameezes and traditional ghaghras have found favour with many buyers.
The saris with Lucknawi chikan and kundan work and other designer wear will be on display till November 17.
The dense zari and kundan borders on the saris were a hit with most women. So were the kurtis with coin-work.
Hand-bags to match the clothes or those with metal handles and in mixed material were a highlight of the expo.
"The exclusively crafted kundan borders were the best buys for me. I bought two kundan jewellery sets as well which I intend to wear for a family wedding," city resident Shams told state-run APP news agency.
