H&M to open country's biggest store in DLF Mall of India

The new store would be spread across 4 floors covering an area of 37,000 sq.ft and is expected to open during Spring 2016.

NEW DELHI: H&M, the world's No. 2 fashion retailer after Spain's Inditex, which is famed for its Zara brand, is readying to open its first flagship store and its biggest outlet in the country in DLF Mall of India, Noida, the company said in a statement. The new store would be spread across 4 floors covering an area of 37,000 sq.ft and is expected to open during Spring 2016.

The Swedish retailer opened its first outlet on October 2 last year in New Delhi's Select Citywalk mall.

“After successful store launches last year, we continue the trend by expanding to some of the most exciting retail destinations across the country with H&M’s business concept of fashion and quality at the best price in a sustainable way.” said Janne Einola, Country Manager, H&M Hennes & Mauritz Retail Pvt. Ltd. India.

H&M had in December 2013 received approval from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board to invest Rs 720 crore in India, becoming one of the biggest foreign investors in single brand retailing in the country.

The company has said it plans to open 50 stores in India to tap into the country's growing demand for global fashion labels.

In 2016, H&M will also open stores in Bengaluru, Gurgaon and Mumbai the company said.
