The government has extended the time limit for taking central excise registration of an establishment by a jeweller up to July 1.

NEW DELHI: The government has extended the time limit for taking central excise registration of an establishment by a jeweller up to July 1.

The Central Board of Excise and Customs has issued a circular extending the time for registration.

However, the liability for payment of central excise duty is with effect from 1st March, 2016. Jewellers have been allowed to make the payment with July instalment.
