FDCI to organise fashion event in March
The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) on Thursday announced it will hold the Winter/Autumn edition of the bi-annual fashion trade event 'Wills India Fashion Week' at Pragati Maidan in March next year.
"We got good response from buyers and designers alike who liked the new venue, so FDCI will organise the next edition in trade fair complex," FDCI Executive Director Sumeet Nair said.
The five-day fashion fete is scheduled to begin from March 12, 2008.
Eschewing swanky five-star hotels, FDCI had last month organised the spring-summer edition of the fashion week for the first time in Pragati Maidan.
Wills Lifestyle, ITCS Essenza Di Wills and Nokia would continue to sponsor the event, Nair said.
FDCI Director General Rathi Vinay Jha had earlier said Pragati Maidan meets the Council's objective of accommodating the growing event and reinforcing WIFW as promoting the 'Business of Fashion' in every sense.
