Amway Vice-President (South) Sujoy Bose said the segment accounts for close to 60 per cent of the Rs 7,500 crore skin care market in India, which explains its strategy.

COIMBATORE: Amway, one of the largest direct-selling FMCG companies, expects to increase domestic market share to 3-3.5 per cent from 2 per cent in the skin-whitening cream segment in the next 12 months.

Speaking to reporters after the launch of Attitude 'Be Bright' whitening cream, Amway Vice-President (South) Sujoy Bose said the segment accounts for close to 60 per cent of the Rs 7,500 crore skin care market in India, which explains its strategy.

Given this, the company has launched five products -- face wash, face scrub, face masque, day cream and night cream, he told reporters here.

Bose said Attitude Whitening cream now contributes almost 21 per cent of its Rs 2,000-crore plus turnover. And the goal is to almost double the contribution of this sub-range within the Attitude brand in the next 12 months, the V-P said.
