Christian Louboutin will transfer its current Indian business into a subsidiary of ABFRL, where the two partners will hold equal stakes, ABFRL said in a media release.
Christian Louboutin had started his business with a women's footwear collection in 1991 in Paris. It launched a men’s collection a few years later, followed by Christian Louboutin Beauté in 2014 and kids’ and pets’ collections in 2022. His collection for women and men was recognised by the signature red lacquered sole.
Christian Louboutin Group chief executive Alexis Mourot, in the media release, said India is an extremely important market for the group.
Sathyajit Radhakrishnan, CEO of ABFRL’s international business, said: “The brand’s distinctive style and craftsmanship appeals to a discerning Indian audience that is growing rapidly.”
