Xiaomi launches Redmi A5 for India: Check price, specifications, where to buy & more

Xiaomi has officially launched its latest budget smartphone, the Redmi A5, in India. Aimed at entry-level users, the Redmi A5 offers a solid mix of performance, modern features, and affordability.

The Redmi A5 will go on sale starting April 17 at 12 pm on mi.com. Moreover, it will also be rolled out for purchase on Amazon, Flipkart, and across major offline retail stores.

The device is designed for those who want a reliable smartphone experience without stretching their budget.


The phone comes in two variants:

• 3GB RAM + 64GB storage – Rs 6,499
• 4GB RAM + 128GB storage – Rs 7,499

Both models support up to 2TB of expandable storage via microSD card, making it a flexible option for users with high storage needs.

Meanwhile, the model is offered in three different colour variants - Jaisalmer Gold, Pondicherry Blue, and Just Black.

New Redmi A5: Specifications and features

The Redmi A5 sports a 6.88-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, promising smoother scrolling and responsiveness.

The display is protected with Triple TÜV Rheinland certification to reduce eye strain and offers up to 600 nits of peak brightness.

The phone is also IP52-rated, offering basic protection against dust and water splashes.

Under the hood, the Redmi A5 is powered by the octa-core Unisoc T7250 processor, delivering dependable performance for everyday tasks.
