Videocon Industries got no relief in the Bombay High Court even in its appeal against a bar from designing its washing machine.

MUMBAI: Videocon Industries got no relief in the Bombay High Court even in its appeal against a bar from designing its washing machine in a manner “deceptively similar” to the one introduced two years earlier by rival manufacturer Whirpool.

The legal suds produced by Whirlpool made stronger impact on a bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice Nitin Jamdar which on Monday dismissed an appeal filed by Videocon against an order passed last month by a single judge that restrained the company from infringing two designs of washing machines registered by Whirlpool India Ltd. Whirlpool had moved the HC against Videocon. Videocon had designs on its market share, it said. Videocon denied.
