NEW DELHI: Mobile phones and accessories retail chain, 'The MobileStore' stores ton Wednesday said it will expand its presence across India by opening a total of 2,500 stores in the next two years.

The company currently operates 750 stores in different formats in 120 cities and plans to penetrate deeper into the market by covering 600 cties and towns.

"The MobileStore intends to be present wherever the consumer is. The plan is to have 2,500 stores across 600 cities and towns across the country in the next two years," The MobileStore CEO and Director Rajiv Agarwal told PTI without divulging investment details.

He said the company had identified cities and store locations across India based on current and potential telecom penetration and consumer need. In the last one month the firm had rolled out over 125 stores.

The MobileStore has stores in three formats ranging between 1500 sqft to 300 sqft along with shop-in-shop formats inside large malls, retail hyper markets and stores.

The stores offer telecom products like mobiles, mobile accessories, connections and recharges, bill payments, value added services, mobile repairs and exchange, music and gaming devices and DTH equipment.

Brands like Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, LG and Fly are available at the stores. The company has also tied up with service operators including Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Tata Indicom, Reliance Mobile, Virgin Mobile offering the consumer a wide bouquet of options.
