Techcom India forays into mobile handset market

Techcom India on Thursday launched seven new mobile phones and said it aims to capture 2-3 per cent of the country's handset market.

NEW DELHI: Consumer electronics manufacturer Techcom India on Thursday launched seven new mobile phones and said it aims to capture 2-3 per cent of the country's handset market by December next year.

The company's handsets launched on Thursday are in the price range of Rs 1,500-4,000.

"Techcom will sell phones in the range of Rs 1,500-4,000 currently. With pan-India presence of our offices and distributors, we hope to penetrate the Indian mobile market extensively in the next six months," Techcom Director-Mobile Phone Division Sandeep Kedia told reporters here.

With this, the company is targetting 2-3 per cent market share by December 2011, he added.
