Surya Group targets Rs 5,000-crore turnover by 2012

The Group, having a 10,000-strong workforce, is engaged in making steel pipe mills and lighting products at its factories at Kashipur (Uttarakhand), Gwalior, Bhuj and National Capital Region ( NCR).
The Group's quest for expansion of its production facilities for steel pipes is an ongoing process to meet rising demand, he said.
Its flagship company, Surya Roshni has started manufacturing complete range of highmast and high quality street lighting poles, Dwivedi.
"With the launch of a state-of-the-art plant at Gwalior, we have started manufacturing high mast and poles, thus adding synergy to the existing segments of business of the company," he said.
The new plant will have an installed capacity of 100,000 mtpa steel fabrication and galvanisation. The convergence of these two streams of steel and lighting would witness the manufacturing of 4,000 high masts and 30,000 octagonal poles in the first phase, he said.
The company plans to expand its product portfolio into power and telecom sector in the second phase. It has also set up a new pipe manufacturing unit at Kutch in Gujarat involving an investment of Rs 450 crore.
