Like most CXO’s, BlackBerry is his favourite gadget. Meet Rajiv K Vij, CEO, Hertz India (a car rental company). There’s more in his personal technology tool kit and it’s worth exploring.
He uses a BlackBerry Pearl and loves it because it keeps him connected all the time. “I can send messages to my core team (more than one recipient) at just a click of a button using my phone,” he says. He also uses a Nokia N-Series phone. He murmurs a few numbers but can’t recall the exact model number. He changes mobile handset every seven-nine months.
Another gadget he’s fond of is a HP palmtop. “It’s light weight and has good memory.” His laptop, too, is a HP—Pavilion 3000.
While travelling he carries only his phone and palmtop, and leaves his laptop at home.
So is there any gadget on Mr Vij’s wishlist? Well no point for guessing this one, he is looking forward to the iPhone. “There’s so much hype around this gadget that I would definitely like to buy it,” he says. He has an iPod too and uses it while jogging in the morning.
He receives around 200 e-mails a day but replies to only 30 of them. An avid traveller, his list of favourite websites comprises all travel portals including indiatimes travel. Being a travel enthusiast he’s fond of photography too: He uses a Sony Cybershot.

In all, he believes that technology is a boon enabling one to connect with those with whom you want to. And what about those calls and messages during wee hours which many business heads complain about? “Well I don’t mind those.
