Siemens scouts for innovative business proposals

Siemens AG invites innovative business proposals from Indian entrepreneurs and innovators in the areas it operates aimed to address developmental challenges.

MUMBAI: Global electrical engineering and electronics major Siemens AG on Thursday invited innovative business proposals from Indian entrepreneurs and innovators in the areas it operates aimed to address developmental challenges.

Launched through Siemens Venture Capital (SVC), the corporate venture arm of Siemens AG, the business plan, 'India Innovation Programme (IIP)', will seek innovative ideas in the areas of energy and environmental care, healthcare, automation & control, industrial and public infrastructures, lighting, automotive and information technology, the company said in a release here.

"Regional markets require innovative products and solutions tailored to meet local needs with a strong potential for global reach. In addition, we foresee the "bottom of the pyramid" segments playing an important role in organisations' product strategy. This forum will help us to bring out the latent talent in the country," Mukul Saxena, VP & Head, Siemens Corporate Technology (India) said.

IIP would award top three finalists who will receive a token cash prize. In addition to the prize, the winners would also be evaluated for a funding opportunity from SVC and/or opportunities for collaboration with Siemens, it said.
