CHENNAI: Home appliances major Samsung has set a 50 per cent growth target for market share in refrigerators and ACs with launch of its first digital inverter-frost free refrigerators in India, a company official said today.

The refrigerators come with a 10 year warranty offered for the first time in refrigerators, Samsung India Home-Appliance Business Head, Rajeev Bhutani said after launch of new range of refrigerators and air-conditioners.

On the launch of air-conditioners, he said three inverter models have been launched ensuring energy efficiency besides "looking at 50 per cent jump on sales of split ACs.

"We are looking at a 50 per cent growth year-on-year (on market share) basis both in value and volume terms (in refrigerator and air-conditioners)", Krishnan said.

According to him, the company currently holds 15 per cent market share in air-conditioners, 33.6 per cent in frost-free refrigerators and 24 per cent in refrigerators.
