Samsung keen to set up $100 million unit in Telangana: K Chandrasekhar Rao

Samsung has evinced interest in setting up a manufacturing facility with an investment outlay of $100 million in Telangana, CM K Chandrasekhar Rao said.

HYDERABAD: South Korean electronics major Samsung has evinced interest in setting up a manufacturing facility with an investment outlay of $100 million in Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said.

"Our Ministers for IT and industries are going to discuss (the proposal) with Samsung. Hyderabad has large scope for electronic and hardware industry. Samsung is expected to come to Hyderabad with $100 million investment in electronics and hardware industry," Rao said.

He was speaking at the inauguration of M&M's manufacturing unit in Zaheerabad.

The Chief Minister said by the end of next year the power supply situation in the State will improve and the Government would ensure that industries get quality electricity without interruption.

He said automotive tyre manufacturer MRF has also come forward to expand its facility in the State by investing Rs 980 crore.

"The new industrial policy and 24-hour power supply to industries will make Telangana an attractive destination for investments."

Rao said a cell set up in his office would ensure speedy clearances for setting up industries in the State and he would personally monitor its functioning.
