Samsung adds a festive-season sting, hikes Galaxy S26 prices by up to 17% in India

Samsung has raised prices of its flagship Galaxy S26 smartphone range in India by up to 17%, with the 256 GB base model now priced at Rs 1,02,999, PTI reported on Monday, citing industry sources tracking the mobile phone market.

The Galaxy S26 256 GB variant was launched at Rs 87,999 in January, making the latest price Rs 15,000, or about 17%, higher than its launch price.

The Galaxy S26 series was itself launched at prices 8-15% higher than the preceding Galaxy S25 range. At launch, the Galaxy S26 Ultra started at Rs 1,39,999, while the Galaxy S26+ was priced from Rs 1,19,999 and the base S26 from Rs 87,999.


With the latest revision, every Galaxy S26 variant now costs more than Rs 1 lakh. The 1 TB version of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is priced at Rs 2,14,999.

The 512 GB Galaxy S26 has seen a 13.9% increase to Rs 1,22,999. The 256 GB Galaxy S26+ is now priced at Rs 1,34,999, up 12.5%, while its 512 GB version has risen 10.7% to Rs 1,54,999.

For the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the 256 GB model has become 10.7% more expensive at Rs 1,54,999. The 512 GB variant is up 9.4% at Rs 1,74,999.

Industry sources, cited by PTI in the report, attributed the hike to higher costs of memory chips, motherboards and other electronic components this year.

The price increases come amid a broader rise in flagship smartphone prices in India. Apple also launched its iPhone 18 series at higher prices than the preceding range, with the latest lineup reportedly carrying a 20-43% increase over the iPhone 17 series.

Apple's foldable iPhone Duo, priced at around Rs 3 lakh to Rs 4.5 lakh in India, is also now in the price range of some of Maruti Suzuki's top-selling hatchback models.
