Philips sets up India's first HDMI ATC in Bangalore

Royal Philips Electronics today announced the inauguration of India's first High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) authorised testing centre (ATC) in its Bangalore-based Philips Innovation Campus.

BANGALORE: Royal Philips Electronics today announced the inauguration of India's first High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) authorised testing centre (ATC) in its Bangalore-based Philips Innovation Campus.

The test centre would facilitate HDMI compliance testing services as per HDMI compliance test specification 1.3b, a company release said.

The centre is Philips' only HDMI authorised testing centre in the country and the eighth to be opened worldwide.
Philips has increased the global testing capacity for HDMI compliant solutions with the inauguration of this testing facility in India.

This facility would help meet market demand for HDMI technology adhered to compliance and drive interoperability with other HDMI devices. "HDMI is poised to play a bigger role in the availability and consumption of high-definition digital media and this ATC will be catalytic in speeding the time-to-market of HDMI compliant products," said Philips Innovation Senior Director, (Consumer Lifestyle) Campus Jelle Rieske.

Consumers will be the direct beneficiary of this test facility because HDMI compliance testing promotes interoperability and helps ensure that purchased entertainment solutions with HDMI will work together efficiently", he added.
